Circle Institute is an
independent research organization of exceptional artists and
scientists located in Monroe
County, Indiana, forty-five minutes southwest of Indianapolis.(1)
Outside of the City of Bloomington it is a three-quarter
hectare [now 10.1 acre] haven for scholars of all disciplines, but the arts
and sciences in particular. Founded in 1997 the Institute
supports artistic and scientific endeavors in many fields
that would otherwise go unfunded, and it is supported in

applications of sponsored work. Leading artists and
scientists seek to work at the Institute, subject to a
rigorous selection process. If a candidate is accepted, they
are given a key to the shops and studies along with basic
accommodations.(2) |
