One morning Gary walked to town - about seven miles one way - and he was on his way back in the afternoon when a thunderstorm blew up. When he was a little over a mile from returning the squall line was beginning to break. Before it arrived, a bolt of lightening struck the ground right in front of him as he walked at full speed. He reported that he saw a hair line of blue appear in front of him, flicker, and rapidly expand in radius. Gary actually walked into this bolt of lightening and as he did he observed the light pressing around him but it was held at a distance of a fraction of a foot by his aura's field. The field bent under the force of the lightening and he was flung over forty feet off of the road into a meadow.

He excitedly recounted the tale upon arriving back at home several minutes after its occurrence. So, yes; technically this is a second person account, but it is included here as Gary was not prone to exaggeration.
