Diversity is good. The cultural and genetic diversity of the human people of the Planet Earth is a great treasure to be cherished. The diversity of life forms on this planet must also be encouraged.

It is needful to realize the planet must be managed for the good of all. The old games of politics and economics, war and religion must fail as human awareness expands beyond its previous confining conception. The paradigm was set when the Apollo moon mission returned with the now famous photograph of the Earth rising over the Lunar landscape. This was the critical moment of self-recognition - Earth - which has now set certain events and apprehensions in motion.

The adaptation of the lessons of the Past may be realized as the collective awareness rises from the grip of its History. As ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny so the development of human culture parallels that of the human individual. Western Civilization has reached a crisis in its growth where the pressures of global politics are forcing it to develop a mature and sane approach to the rest of the planet or to continue to face hard lessons.

In group action there is a tendency to express the "lowest common denominator" - an effect where unity of experience can only happen at a level shared by all and that is the level of least experience, least knowledge, and least wisdom. As a balance, the higher vibration states may be spontaneously resonated. There exists a connectedness of spirit that allows that every individual's energy contributes to the balance of the whole in ways that cannot be closely calculated.

The challenge lies in nurturing the collective and individual vision of the Whole Earth along with the realization of our connections with it. It is the purpose of Circle Institute to assist in the development and co-ordination of useful personal and planetary paradigms.

recovering earth

Circle Institute is engaged in an ongoing effort to integrate useful knowledge and approaches to knowledge into a format that may be utilized for the actualization of a new planetary paradigm directed to the fostering of the human potential as a creative solution to planetary crisis. The materials presented represent such ongoing integration as we move from a collection of information into a plausible scenario directed towards the understanding and implementation of a cultural normal more in line with the potential for a trans-planetary future. Thus recovering earth deals with the energy which we exchange with our environment - the planet Earth. It focuses on the understanding, cultivation and refinement of the energy exchanged from the viewpoint of the individual and from the view of Earth Stewardship. What is required is to bring the both of humanity and the Earth into a functional harmony. The material reflects an ongoing and interactive investigation of several primary and pivotal fields of knowledge and practice. You are encouraged to participate in the evolution of our understanding of the material and the refinement of the material's presentation.

"...the ancient precept, know thyself, and the modern precept, study nature, become at last one maxim."
